And we believe in spreading the happiness. “Happiness is only real when shared” - Christopher McCandless The usual industry practice is to discard rather than donate any unsold bakery items. However, we feel strongly against this practice here at Dayplus. To throw away perfectly edible food goes against our corporate and personal beliefs. At Dayplus, thanks to the use of cutting-edge Japanese technology, we can greatly reduce the food returns collected from our retailers. However, as Dayplus buns are hand-made; not machine-made, we do have a fair number of buns that don’t meet our daily Quality Check standards because of their appearances. Some of our buns fell short of the height and weight limits while others grew a bit slanted after baking. These buns are being donated regularly to selected elderly homes and non-profit organizations. We feel strongly to give back to the elderly in our society as it is because of them that our country is where we are today. In addition, Dayplus buns are baked without any preservatives, and this makes the best bun for them!
